Bianor – iMediaShare

iMediaShare provides easy access to video and audio content from various sources to allow people to enjoy their favourite content on-demand on any connected TV. With iMediaShare, mobile handsets can be used to easily enable and seamlessly control the streaming of digital media to any TV screen.

Elgato Systems – EyeTV Netstream Sat

A single EyeTV Netstream Sat turns all Macs and PCs in a household network into televisions with a central digital video recorder. The device is a network TV tuner that streams free-to-view satellite TV in full HD to computers via Ethernet. A Wi-Fi network allows users to watch TV wirelessly on portable computers or iPads.

IMAQLIQ – IMAQLIQ TV media centre

IMAQLIQ TV is a media centre with multiple built-in applications that can be supplemented by operator services such as broadcast channels and film libraries. In tandem with an internet connection and TV set, IMAQLIQ TV allows users to share videos, audio, and photos to be accessed across different devices.

Skifta – home media streaming service

Skifta is a connected home media streaming service and the first software application to be certified by DLNA. Available as a downloadable application from the Android Marketplace, Skifta allows users to stream their music, photos and videos, whether on their mobiles, the internet or home computer, to other UPnP and DLNA-certified devices.

ZappoTV – Mobile Media Centre

The ZappoTV Mobile Media Centre lets users access any internet-based content for sharing with friends. ZappoTV is a software-only solution that enriches the television watching experience by making it easy to search and find interesting content from multiple sources, including the user's own mobile device and home network.

Fusion Sheep – second screen application

Fusion Sheep plays online videos on a user's big screen TV while allowing a second screen such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone to access additional relevant information to enrich the viewing experience.

HDI Dune – Dune HD TV 101

An attractively designed, competitively priced, versatile and highly customisable IPTV-capable 1080P HD STB designed to meet the commercial needs of service providers.

Netgem – Negem N5000 platform

The Toshiba Multifunction Adapter developed with Netgem is a customised version of the Netgem N5000 platform. It offers simple, visually rich and intuitive navigation through a single remote control and combines DTT-HD broadcast channels with value added OTT services available through the Toshiba Places portal.

SnapKeys – SnapKeys 2i

This data entry system for connected TVs has been designed to replace full keyboards by enabling data entry through four invisible keys. These do away with the problem of traditional soft-keyboards which dominate the screens of tablets and smartphones but whose tiny keys make typing difficult.

Visual Unity - iVysilani

Originally developed for Czech TV in 1999 and continuously updated since, the iVysilani allows viewers to watch television online, including in HD, or optimized for mobile devices. The platform also has the capability of hosting large video archives for delivery as video on demand.

CONNECTED TV OF THE YEAR

Sales of connected TVs continue to accelerate. Readers of ConnectedWorld.TV were asked to nominate the best connected TV products. The winner was decided by a poll of readers undertaken during August 2011.
